I’m Sorry
I'm sorry for the calls that led into tears
For the promises i made and later buried in my fears
I did not want an end that was full of depression
Because you were once my light and only validation
I'm sorry i didn't watch the selfish animal i had become
Hiding in my ambitions forgetting that we were one
Constant reminders of how sightless i was askew
Only to overfill my ears and turn deaf too
I'm sorry for blowing all the fun away
The laughter, chat, love and gamy I threw astray
Replaced with a solitude so big i now beget
As the void you left is so big a cleft
I'm sorry for whatever I can't say
For I wronged you in ways I can't contemplate
Hoping you can forgive me one day
Because it wasn't the best checkmate we could conjugate
From Mubiru Emmanuel Rodney: I'm from Uganda, currently a student at Makerere University pursuing a Bachelor's of Dental Surgery.I'm an upcoming poet. I just love poetry because it's a way of really expressing things that one goes through that the outside world doesn't see.
