Serendipity’s First Love

I had a map of you in my heart,

my heart a guarded and steady beat.

I knew the route, the end to you.

But then a storm had came,

a missed train's door,

It felt like a wrong turn to an unknown stop.

And in the mist of the crowd, a sudden glance,

Not a grinning stare,

but a tilt of head, a pair of eyes that had the stars in them.

At that moment the world dissolved,

the noises disappeared and left just you.

Your voice was a tune I'd never heard before,

The sweetest, soothing tune that sounded like home.

A key that fit perfectly in my lock,

Unlocking a door I thought was sealed shut with pride.

A connection, deeply and truthful,

The "you" I never knew that could unlock me.
