How Beautiful I’ve Always Been

I walked for hours and my life

and fell in time to trees.

I am these dying leaves

in Autumn and Spring:

how beautiful I've always been;

how blissful it is to glisten.

How sensual the earth feels.

My mulch is becoming earthworms,

being devoured by hungry birds.

Flying through sunlit water droplets,

                                 my anxiety's lost in flight.

I see my leaves again—

how beautiful my golden, orange glow.
