Issue 4
NOTES FROM THE EDITORS
Dear Reader,
Love hints and shapes; nature instructs and inspires; self breaks and resuscitates. Issue 4, Serendipity, continues to shine a spotlight on global literature and human experiences. It features 22 pieces from 16 authors of 11 countries.
Serendipity appears in the courage that unlocks opportunities, as Traci Neal reflects, “a harp to extol our differences… A welcoming / message begins by saying hello.” Like the moon, serendipity guides silently, turning quietude into love and longing, as portrayed in “The ‘Light’ Blue Ribbon” by 风桃子. Almasi Al Akabani sees it as a liberating, transformative force, “Serendipity rose from the dust, / stepping over the debris.” These moments and realizations infuse us with unpredictability and wonder.
Linda M. Crate also expresses, “and those beautiful things / may even discover me.” Nature transports our souls. Starting with a serendipitous seed, nurtured with kaleidoscopic human narratives, Eterna Journal has grown into a literary and artistic garden with audiences in 55 countries. We’re now reaching our one-year milestone. Thank you to all editors, contributors, and readers who have surprised us with your vivid writings and boundless passion. With its elegant, resilient, and creative power, literature continues to bind us together.
May these pages fill you with reflections. You may also find yourself reflected back through these lines. Eterna Journal will stay true to guiding paths, illuminating stories, and making genuine connections across differences.
With warmth,
Zhihan Elsa Zhang & Yixin Emma Zhou
