The curse of being an overthinker

The curse of being an overthinker

Is lying awake at 3 a. m.,

Rewatching conversation in my mind

That lasted five seconds

But now take five hours in my head .

It's apologizing for things

No one else remember,

Building entire disasters

From a single unwanted text

Practicing goodbyes to people

Who aren't even leaving.

It's wanting to switch my brain off

The way other turn off a light—

Simple , quick,

Without the whole room

Burning with questions afterward.

It's carrying the weight

Of every possibility

Every what-if's,

Every worst-case scenario

That feels too real to ignore.

It's exhausting disguised as thoughtfulness,

Anxiety wearing the mask of" just being prepared",

A mind that keeps running

Even when the world stands still.

But it's also knowing myself

In a way most people never do—

Seeing every angle,

Every hidden thread,

Every truth beneath the surface.

The curse of being an overthinker,

Is that me feel too much

Fear too much

Care too much

And somehow ,

Still keeps going.

The curse of being an overthinker

Is pretending "I am fine",

While my brain is busy drawing

In thoughts you never asked for.

It's staring at my phone

And feeling my chest tighten.

When someone takes too long to reply

Wondering if esaid something wrong

Or if I were never that important anyways

It's scrolling through everyone's perfect lives

Comparing my cracked pieces

To their polished highlights

Wondering why my heart feel heavy

When everyone else seems to float.

It's rewriting the same message

Ten times...

And still deleting it

Because " what if they think I am weird"?

"What if they think I just want their attention"?

"What if it ruins everything"?

"What if I am just too much"?

It's wanting to scream into my pillow

Becuz my mind keeps spiralling—

One small problem

Becomes a whole future collapsing

In less than a minute.

Imagining conversation...

Arguments I never saay out loud ,

Apologies I never receive.

It carrying memories

Like bruises that never fade

And replacing moments

Until they feel like a freshh wound.

Whising someone could hear

The chaos behind my silence

The fear behind my smile.....
